Part of being wise is learning from the mistakes of others (i.e. me)

Ohh I have gotten an annoying injury... adductor strain AKA Groin Pull!!:( Its not to major and I got it playing basketball. Adductor strains are common with those change of direction games like soccer, rugby or basketball (and of course many others) and now its my turn.

On hindsight I kind of know why I got this injruy. I didnt follow the advice i give to all the athletes I have ever worked with. For the past month or so I have been working especially hard at my front squat. As described HERE. I neglected for a period of time... wide stance training, as well as single leg training (both of which make the adductors work hard). I beleive that this led to the injury. Of course it might have happened anyway... but I feel it could have been prevented. So now I am rehabilitating it using exercises that will strengthen the affected muscles.

4-5 sets of each exercise for quite high reps of 8-12. For rehab we MUST STILL CONTINUE TO TRAIN. We train to just before the point of pain. Not into the pain but just stopping before it. If we stay still and "rest in bed"... we heal slower, we end up MUCH weaker, and we may end up with big chunks of scar tissue which need to be worked out with massage and soft tissue work later (what a pain!) the Vid is a rehab session of myself.

In conclusion, do your wide stance and single leg training!
