Making eating correctly a Lifestyle Part 3 - Eating Fruits and/or vegetables every meal

In Part 1 we discussed eating often, in Part 2 we talk about one of the hardest things to do in asian society which is finding good sources of high quality protein and yes I did forget to mention tuna:)

If part 2 was the hardest, part 3 is probably one of the easiest. We may lack large juicy animals (drool...!!) but we do have an abundance of fruits at great prices (especially if you know where to look)
I beleive that when we eat fruits and veges each meal (thats 6x a day if you read part 1) we get many benefits. Far more micronutrients (vitamins, minerals etc), these improve recovery and boost immune system. We can use fruits and veges to replace useless starches. They taste NICE and can replace uselss desserts. They are $$$CHEAP$$$. For a lady I suggest 5-6 servings of fruits and veges per day (1 serving = 1 apple = 1 medium bananna = 10 grapes no need to be exact...) for men its 8-10. Get goin!
For example, at wholesalers -Pasir Panjang wholesale market, one market opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza and other places like that...$1 buys you - 3 oranges OR 3-4 apples OR 1 LARGE papaya (maybe 2kg) OR 4 dragon fruits you get the picture:) OR several servings of vegetables (prices depend on season)... all these for less than a Macdonnalds apple pie - do we even need to compare nutritional value?! There are really no excuses for not eating fruits or veges.
