U-17 Basketball: Game 3

Best game so far. Excellent mental state, aggressive defense that forced turnovers without even trapping. Good hustle. Physically I thought this game was a bit of a validation of the lower volume of training we have been doing. In the first quarter we were only up by 5. A see-saw game. But by the 3rd and 4th Quarter we were getting every rebound and loose ball. we looked REALLY quick. Its really true that less volume of conditioning + a focus on "year round" speed training is raelly paying off. We ended up winning by 54!!

U-17 Basketball: Game 2

We came out much better mentally in this second game. Won comfortably with a trapping defense and efficient offense. Not hitting top stride yet, but decent. Physically the guys seem fresh and ready to play.

U-17 Basketball: Game 1

Here is the match report. It was a BAD game. We were sluggish on defense and rebounding and offensively, not able to break down the opponent's zone defense like we had trained to do. Physically we were not out of shape. But we did not come out as the aggressor and let a weaker team hang around for far too long.

This game was not about lack of physical preparation, rather a sub optimal mental state.
