This Year's NBA finals
Its the San Antonio Spurs vs the Cleveland Cavaliers. The spurs are the ultimate basketball team. They play outstanding team defense, they play selfless offense, always making the correct passes. They do ZERO do fancy stuff. They WIN.
The Cavaliers have Lebron James. I like him. He's skillful, athletic, strong and big. Much more than that... he made for the mass market, hes made for TV highlights and Youtube postings. He sells lots of jerseys...But the cavaliers are not nearly as good a team as the spurs.
But there is one strange thing about this finals.
People are pretty sure the Spurs are going to win. Vegas Betting odds confirm it! But I feel that people are rooting for the cavs! Not because the Spurs are bad guys, just that they do everything SO EXACTLY RIGHT, ALL THE TIME that they get "boring!" how sad! Excellence is now called boring. No wonder so many people don't strive for it.
Excellence demands rigor, not being inflexible, but being throughly committed to greatness. Endless stimulation is just a weak way out of problems.
Excellence is what life should be about! Thats why I deleted all my computer games. Thats why I read books during all my free time... what about you?
