Being thankful for aggrevating past experiences
My aggravating past expereince was whats known as "higher education". It was 4 years of pure boredom. Somehow I came away with a degree in computer engineering... While I was in there, not much good stuff happened academically. Alot of foreign teachers who's english I could not understand, lots of assignments and programming projects that keep me up late at night looking for missing semi-colons in my code and class mates who REALLY liked this computer stuff! All computer code and no real-life interaction makes captnJ a bored boy.HOWEVER, looking back, this annoying time did give me one positive. It made me unafraid of computers. Because "surely it cant be as hard as that annoying Natural Language Programming project...." And this is super useful since I'm designing a website that integrates my passion for human performance, with some techie web stuff.
Once again no credit to school, practical stuff like MAKING WEBSITES!! come on!! - WAS NOT TAUGHT. But the fearlessness of computer stuff gave me the confidence to dive in and start to make one myself. It took about 20 hours last weekend during the new year holidays, fiddling and trial-and-erroring to get the site up and running. (But I think if i did it agian it would take 3-5. woohoo)
Yes, all the suspense is necessary because Its in kind of a "beta" version (see, we can learn from google hehe). Eventually I want it to stand out from the many fitness websites out there, especially for its content and honesty. Stay Tuned! Its gonna be a cool ride on the waves of technological innovation!
