So where do kids get to be kids?
Wow kids in singapore dont know what "after-school" means... I think im my time (And thats not too long ago) there was such a thing as after school. You went to play, run around and be a kid. but now days after school means extra tution lessons, and school activities... it does keep them out of trouble. But they do become boring kids its a tough balance to strike i'll admit. What does worry me is that the kids are not very happy.
2 years ago i went to a orphanage in thailand with come Boys Brigade guys to teach english now talk about happy! check out those kids! They have very little materially, but they do live in a happy environemnt (considering its an orphanage) and they do get alot of love from the house parents. They also have a well managed school schedule that educates but does not overload. I wouldnt say its outright better, but these are a fun bunch of kids to be around.
Spoiling kids with fancy clothes and toys does nothing for them besides easing the guilt of a parent who spends too much time in the office. Thats not the most important thing to a kid.
