Book Review (that may interest only me...) - Speed Training Considerations for Non-Track Athletes
Haha this book will appeal to a REALLY SMALL POPULATION of people. I would not be supprised if my hit count does not budge at all due to this entry haha! But it is part of my continuing self education in the area of physical preperation for atheltes. This book is written by James Smith. It is the amalgamation of many books and articles on the subject of speed (running speed) development for athetles of all kinds. Because all sports need running of some kind (uh... those that don't are ususally not sports...billiards anybody?). It talks about the factors that dertermin what kind of training to do in certain parts of the competitive year. The fact that its all so well put together from other books, east european/soviet translated research, and the practical experieces of a good coach make it a good buy (its CHEAP for the information thats inside). Its not an easy read for a beginner athelte. But it will be quite understandable for an experiecned coach. You can get your copy Here.
