Who's getting married?!
Wow its my first real life (I know the guy) virtual marriage! One kid I know just got married... ONLINE... in Maple Story... thats quite a scary thought possible that it makes us THINK we are ready for marriage when we actually have no clue what it takes to make it work?... I firmly believe maple story is a bad BAD BAD!! way to use time. Many young people i know are hooked on it! their in-game character development is level 99 or something... but real life development (social, emotional, physical) is next to nothing. I can see how its addictive... cool items (to show off to your friends) like clothes, hats, weapons and even pets...uh even..wife.... ****In some games like ragnarok being married even gives yous special powers****! You can use real money (a prepaid card) to get game money to buy these items! Supprisingly (to me at least) fashion items are even more popular than useful items like swords and shields! But hey thats the same as real life where outrageously expensive and useless items may also sell well...

We must be careful about such "virtual" worlds. yes the characters and graphics are cute so they seem harmless... but they give us NO CARRY-OVER to real life! And hours and hours of life are LEECHED away in front of the screen and keyboard! Go outside, play a sport, get a hobby, talk to real people face to face... now thats a good use of time and these things make us ready to face the real world!
